Basic Embroidery Stitches


Basic Embroidery Stitches - July 18th

Time: 1pm - 5pm

There's a world of possibilities out there if you can embroider a few basic stitches , such as the stem, backstitch, herringbone, chevron, blanket stitch, and others. Join us and learn the basic stitches necessary for wool appliqué or embellishing your quilts.


  • large-eyed embroidery needles or sz 20 or 22 Chenille needles
  • Sharp embroidery scissors
  • Clover green needle threader or Lo Ran needle threader(has hook at each end)
  • Washable ink pen, such as Dritz blue ink
  • Micron or Sharpee pen for writing stitch down on project
  • 12" Omnigrid-type ruler

  • Size 8 or 12 pearl cotton, one or more colors
  • 18" x 18" muslin or light colored solid cotton
  • 20" x 20" Pellon fleece (do not use fusible fleece)


You may arrive as early as 30 minutes before class to get set up and ready to begin.

Please park in the “free parking” lot at the end of downtown on the right.  You may pull up in front of studio to unload, then move vehicle to lot.
